Service Technician / Equipment Mechanic Job Description

Service Technician / Equipment Mechanic will service large and small machines. You will  inspect and service the engines of these machines and repair any damage found.  You will work with machines from many different industries. Some of these include construction, farming, lawnmowers and other types of machines.

You should have a high degree and mechanical skill, capable of identifying problems in engines without needing supervision or guidance to do so. Additionally, you will need to be able to use various hand and power tools to carry out tasks.

Previous experience in working with engines and machines is a helpful qualification to have for those who are interested in pursuing this position.

Service Technician / Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Inspect machines and their engines for problems
• Once a problem is identified, determine the best resolution and work efficiently to complete it
• Complete maintenance tasks such as lubricating and cleaning engines
• Replace damaged parts using various hand and power tools
• Consult with other mechanics as needed to find the best solution to the problem 

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to use various tools without requiring assistance
• In-depth knowledge of large machines and diesel engines is a major plus
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
